When I bought this kit from M Workshop, Bernard told me when I was paying for it that this kit has some serious fit issues. Not to sound cliche, but that sure made me look forward to building this. I love the challenge of building ‘bad’ kits like this. So I replied, “I like bad fitting kits”.
Famous. Last. Words.
Ok, the fit is not really that bad apart from a really lousy stock cockpit. I replaced it with Neomega’s cockpit set. The Neomega set was really crappy and though it’s not cheap, it’s clearly outlived the lifespan of the mold… Anyway, it was still miles better than the stock cockpit so I’ll live with it.
The rest of the build went rather smoothly. Then, as I was finishing up the paintwork, I flat coat the model using an old stash of clear flat. Argh… I guess I mis-judged the amount of thinner to use and the entire model fogged up like mad. I tried to clear coat it back with gloss but it didn’t help much. In the end, I had to use a whole wallop of Future to tame it down. Phew!
Overall this was still a great fun build except for the little clear coat incident. I’ll be entering this in the coming TamiyaCon 07. Seeya there!

Just took a closer look. I think your WRX looks really good overall. Good details. But one glaring point is that the panel lines are way too dark. Maybe I can explain a bit more if we can bump into each other.

i was pretty afraid of rubbing off the paint. quite a lot paint got rub off during polishing. weird thing is, this is the 1st time i experience something like this. need more practise. lol..
