About this site.
This site is as much about me as it is about modelling. Though the primary focus would be on the latter which seems to be what most people are interested in anyway.
About me.
Born 1978. Male, Cancerian. Not a very outdoor person. But I do not like to idle. I guess I feel a need to exercise my brain often. Previously (2005-2006) underwent training as a (game) programmer in Japan. Currently (2007) working as a Software Development Engineer in Singapore.
About my modelling history.
My earliest memory of modelling seems to be influence by my uncle at a very young age (less than 10?). I remembered him teaching us how to fix airplanes by using super glue to fog up the insides of the canopy so that we don’t have to paint the cockpit.
I remember getting a Mercedes car kit later and spray painting the whole thing using spray cans from hardware shops. My first tank was a M1 because the same uncle told us at that time it was the most awesome tank. My father did contract jobs for the army then and the tank was dutifully painted olive green from his left over paint (using his industrial grade spray gun). I too have days of mucking up models, it was the good old days.
The first airbrush I ever owned was the Badger 200. I actually felt the burden to do better models then because somehow I have been ‘upgraded’.
I think I was 14? But I didn’t improve much.
Later school and life got in the way and I can’t remember building much models until 2000. I made the Zaku and won something for the first time. There was 3 entries including mine.
I guess, slowly, I did start to improve from then. I think it was more of a mindset change then anything. Got my first big win in 2001 with my Firebat.
Looking back, I really do feel that my ‘success’ with has more to do with support from friends and loved ones than my own effort.
About my goals.
My modelling goal has been to have my works published. In magazine or maybe a book? Its something to look forward to. What the future may hold? Guess we’ll see.
