Bandai HG RX-77D Guncannon Mass Prod. Type
Made in Japan
**Front line report**
Reports of the war coming to an end came in late last nite, the last salvo was fired. Just recently, it was clearly becoming a long drawn-out fight to no end.
With heavy casualties to both side, needless to say, there are no winners.

Bandai PG Gundam Mk. II Titans
Commissioned work
My first commissioned work in a long long time. The last time was like 3-4 years ago when I was really into sculpting and sculpted some anime figures. Wow. I sure wasn’t expecting it to be a PG. This is my first PG too. Well, I do have a PG Zaku but I never got around to building it.
Bandai sure put in alot of effort into the design of the PG, very complex internal structures. Well, this one came right out of the box with a slight variation in the paint scheme. I sure enjoyed myself building this.

Bandai HG Mechanics 1/550
Entry, Mecha Resolution 2003
During its military reconstruction following the devastating One Year War, the Earth Federation contracted a private company, Anaheim Electronics, to develop a series of new Gundam-model mobile suits to serve as conceptual testbeds for new and improved mobile suit technology. The third of these new prototypes to be produced by Anaheim was the RX-78GP03 Gundam, code-named “Dendrobium”.
Since the GP03 Dendrobium was designed as a defense unit for space installations capable of taking on enemy mobile armor, the Orchis component was basically a large spacegoing vehicle, equipped with enough thrusters to make it a fast interception unit. Its primary heavy armament was a large mega beam cannon, mounted on its own movable arm for aiming, and it also had two large claws which incorporated large beam sabers capable of slicing up something as large as a battleship. The Orchis also mounted an external I-field barrier generator, giving the GP03 complete 360-degree protection from enemy beam weapons fire. For versatility, it also mounted two large weapons container pods, which could carry a variety of weapons from micromissile launcher pods to battleship-sized demolition chain mines. Spare weapons containers could be loaded out ahead of time, and the Orchis could have empty pods changed out for new ones in a matter of minutes.

Bandai MG RGM-79C GM Kai
Entry, Bandai Asia Cup 2003
Ever since the introduction of the Advance of Z series in Dengeki Hobby Magazine (DHM), I have been fascinated by the cool design of the mechas in the series. The Titans Test Team (TTT) range of design are especially appealing as they appear to be really advance compared to conventional Gundams.
I’m especially inspired by Hazel and BigWig and I thought of introducing my own design which is a blend of the 2, and what better mecha to use then the GM Kai which is already appealing in its own right.

Kaiyodo Soft Vinyl Kit
1/35 Scale
Helldiver, made by Shinohara Heavy Industries (maker of AV-98 Ingram), is the mainstay labor of the JGSDF. The Helldiver is, by labor standards, an extreme example. Considering that the initial motivation for labors are for use as heavy construction vehicles. With missions that includes parachuting from a C-4 transporter, the Helldiver is literally expected to go behind enemy lines with its cannon blazing.
Note: This is an extremely rare kit. Made by Kaiyodo as a vinyl kit, it sports a white metal gun and is 1/35 scale! I was pretty curious about its exact production dated and I couldn’t even find any traces of it on the net. Until one day when I was finally building it, I spotted it. Right under the head, a faint mark was visible.
“1989.5.24 Taku Sato”
Its a 14 year old kit! My salutes to Mr. Sato for his great accomplishment in sculpting this 14 years ago! Its my greatest pleasure to be building such a kit.

Full Scratch GM Head
1/35 Scale Diorama, Special Award, Singapore Dengeki 2002
They say that the war is pulling closer. Though it seems inevitable that the war would eventually reach here, many are still hopeful that it would go away.
As the young lady stares at the remnants of machine built for destruction, it brings about more sadness than shock or fear. Peace never seems to be so far away. Yesterday, as so often said, seems so much simpler…
The war is here now…
There is an Italian version of this article here. My thanks to the guys at NKG for doing this. Though I don’t read Italian myself, I’m sure someone does.

Full Scratch Zaku Head, Custom Dioramics Figures
1/35 Scale Diorama
Days and years have gone. The scars of battles fought, long healed by the greenery of mother nature. Is it a grave, is it a tomb? True, there is death here. But there is no sadness here, on the contrary, there is laughter and joy.
——
“Told ya its cool isn’t it?” Brandon says with a wide grin on his face.
“Brandon, I’m scared. Lets go back, its spooky here…” Belinda whispers as she hugs her Teddy tighter.
“Its awesome! Wow! Look at this huge dent on the armour. Look at what’s inside… Wow!” Tom unable to contain his excitement at all.
“Lets make this our secret base! This is gonna be so cool!” exclaim Tom.
——
So it begins, another chapter in perhaps a long history of this Zaku that perhaps fought many great battles. But all that is not important now. For now, its a children’s playground, a place for children to find joy…

Bandai FG RX-78-2 Gundam
Entry, Dengeki Pro-modeler Audition Round 2
(This article was required for the 2nd round of the Dengeki competition.)
My first response to the FG RX-78 as the subject of this 2nd audition is one of mixed reaction. The basic FG kit would allow me to build in a shorter time since the time given to complete the kit was relatively short (less than 1 month). On the other hand, the FG kit is extremely basic. There is no polycaps, no ball joints. To make it stand out is a challenge indeed.
Fortunately, the FG RX-78 is arguably aesthetically pleasing RX-78. The only difference in technique that I have employed in the construction of this kit that is difference from what I usually do it that I fixed the pose. This is because the kit complete model has to withstand the long and possibly harsh journey to Japan!

Bandai MG MS-09R Rick-Dom
1st, Singapore Dengeki 2001, Pro-modeler Category
If War is a grim reminder of how ugly Human nature can get, it doesn’t get any uglier than this. Charred remains of buildings burnt to the ground, huge areas of blacken landscape, its might well be mistaken for Hell on Earth. This is the image the Firebat brings.
Armed with a FBR-02 Flamethrower, cracker grenades and reinforced armour, the Firebat is truly a pure-breed close assault mobile suit. The highly flammable concoction produced by the flamethrower is truly state-of-the-art. Not only does it burn at an ultra high temperature, the mixture etches through the enemy armour, devouring metal like hungry bacteria.
Enhanced by advanced material management system, the mixture is kept stable by continuous cycling and is never mixed prior to ignition. Together, the Firebat makes an enemy you don’t want to meet, in the fog of war that often shrouds its appearance…

Bandai MG MS-18E Kämpfer
Winner, 3rd SDFGC
I think I shall not be bothered into telling you guys about the story of War in the Pocket and about all the glory stuff about Kämpfer featured in the show. I think you guys knows more than me about that!
I remember that my first encounter with Kämpfer was when I was visiting a model shop when I was a kid (ok, maybe a teen). It was at Scale Hobby at Far East Plaza a long time ago (do any of you guys remember?). Through the window display, I noticed a most awesome Mecha, in cool blue loaded with tons of weapons. Of course I know little about what it was then, I even went to the extend of painting my entire toy robot blue!
Now years after, I finally own one. Best of all, its a MG from Bandai!

Bandai MG RX-79(G) Gundam
Entry, 2nd SDFGC
With the destruction of Apsaras III, the federals effectively won the battle against Zeon. But for the members of the 08th MS Team, it was a victory they accept with a heavy heart. For their respected leader, Lt. Shiro Amada, perished with the Apsaras.
However, life goes on and Karen Joshua was to assume the duties of team leader. Her ‘jimu atama (GM Head)’ mobile suit (MS) suffered heavy damage during its last scuffle with a MSM-04 Acguy but was deemed repairable. Thus born the RX-79(G) Karen Custom.
Obvious changes included the new head, the repaired pilot hatch and other minor improvements. The ‘new’ MS is a grim reminder of the Ez8 once piloted by Shiro. Karen is of course oblivious to the changes and repairs, however, there is one thing she insisted. Though she assumes command now, the MS is still code numbered 082, for there could be no replacement for 081…

Bandai MG MS-06R-2 Zaku II
Winner, 1st SDFGC
The demands for the Mobile Suit (MS) came directly from the Dukedom of Zeon, the requirements are simple enough, highly mobile and powerful. There was many discussions as to whether to build an entirely new mobile suit. It seems like a rational idea, the MS that were currently in use is aged. Compared to their Gundam counterpart, Zeonic MS is quite simply, low-tech.
As always, budget constraints threw that idea out the window. We therefore decided to go for the next best thing, fully upgrade an existing MS. The chosen one is the MS-06R-2. One can describe it as a Zaku II pushed to its limits, we however, will push it to the extreme.
To be used by the elite pilots of the Special Force, the MS needs not only to be mobile for fast strikes, but also heavily armoured. Thankfully, technology has progressed much since the first Zaku, enabling much thinner and lighter though tougher armour. Additional works goes into the modification of the power pack, the resulting MS is as fast as it can get.
Perhaps a most striking feature of the Berserker is its shoulder armour which received a complete revamp, what we get in the end is something truly menacing. God help its enemies.

9 months after the start of this project, I can finally declare it complete.
I may be the one building it, but I couldn’t have done it without the help of many others.
I would like to thank :-
?Maxwinamp. For loaning me his MG Kaempfer parts for so long.
?G-man. For his help in making hi-res scans of the plan views without which, I cannot get started.
?Friends at PLAMO and FFF. For suggestions, ideas and feedback.
?Last but not least. My GF. For her tireless encouragement and support throughout the entire duration.
Thank you.

~Overheard on comms radio~
Ota: Have you heard what happened to the guy from unit 1? Those gangsters had Sabot Armour Piercing rounds! And what do we have? Polycarbonate shield!
Noa: Ota..
Ota: Yeah?
Noa: Shuddup!
Commander: Maintain radio silence!
Noa knew that even though they are from the Heavy Tactical Unit, they are badly out-numbered and out-armed. “This budget cut is literally killing us..” she muttered under her breath.
Noa: I’m going in! Watch my back!…
