I think many would ask me why would I bother to buy and build this. Since Bandai has a MG 1/35 Griffon Labor (cheaper too). But I do not have that kit even though I am a huge fan of the Patlabor series. The reason is because the proportion of the Bandai kit looks very wrong to me, somehow its just not the Griffon Labor I remember.
(Updated: 25th August 2005)
As seen from the box above, it is a OOP kit from Bandai. I don’t know why I am so magnetically attracted to it. I just felt I ought to get it even though the price is pretty much killer at ¥5950.
It looks like a total wreck upon viewing the contents too. LOL. But alas, I am still glad I bought it. I just know that this has got to look better than the current Bandai kit.
Anyway, I just started working on it and I love it already. The details looks great and the vinyl was great to work with too.
Keep watching!
Update: 25th August 2005
Here’s a little update before I patch up the whole thing during the coming weekend. At this point of time, most of the part are simply snapped together. The best part about vinyl kits is that there are no seams to clean up!
All I used so far are just a knife and CA (super) glue.
Stay tune!

Hi !!
Wow, what a pretty griffon that you have.I’m niko from indonesia, and maybe I’m the only one who owned a MG Griffon Flight Type in INdonesia,it is very rare, I bought one from Ebay 5 months ago and he is already construct by me.Maybe you should buy one, because the details are awesome!! And also the colour. You can see the inner part of the griffon, in its legs, arms, wings and chest (when you open it to see Bado inside
I have another one too, the aqua type, but I only construct the aqua backpack unit, so my griffon has two type of backpack, flight and aqua.
It is always very glad to see someone out there with the same interest…
Cheers…
